What role might I play?
  • Staff a telephone information hotline
  • Provide translation services
  • Greet and provide direction when people arrive at a dispensing site
  • Help with event set-up, maintenance, and administration
  • Lend the community your special skills.
Why is it necessary for me to register pre-disaster?

Following many disasters, large numbers of talented volunteers show up to help, many of whom are turned away because they are without the special skills and safety training given pre-event to keep personnel safe.

An effective response requires that volunteers follow a pre-established protocol for activation and follow the incident command system.

My time is valuable. What do I get in return?
  • The satisfaction of giving back. Assist local communities with essential services.
  • Networking. Meet other members of the community and experts in the field of public health preparedness, attend training events, and participate in yearly meetings.
  • Receive cost-free training. Get prepared by the best. For the sake of safety, one training per year is required to remain an active member.
  • Volunteer. Want a one-of a kind experience? Here's your chance to work behind the scenes at major Boston events.
I’m ready. How do I get involved?
  • Complete the on-line application.
  • Attend an orientation and then participate in a refresher training per year to remain an active member.
  • We will contact you shortly! Thank you for your interest in the Boston Medical Reserve Corps.
